Can we really have wasted it all?
The time that we took to lay a foundation.
The effort that was put into the construction
The joy of watching it all fall into place.
Did we really do it?
Take our time to cement it all?
Spend hours poring over the designs
Share our dreams about the final piece?
Stone by heavy stone we set it all,
day by day,we watched it grow
from a silent wish to a reality...from a plain piece of land,
To this breathtaking mansion of greatness
Then bit by bit,we lost it,
The vision and mission we had,
we got sidetracked and forgot the effort
and we took it down stone by stone
Why didn't we leave it as it had been?
vacant,uninhabitable and unfinished
the birds,bats,insects would have moved in
Then all it would have been was...an arrested development!
